My take on the śivopāsana mantra, an ancestral vedic chant (from the Yajurveda) that acts as a sonic worship (upāsana) to the ultimate, supreme reality (śiva). It begins with the uttering of 22 of the most powerful and meaningful names of śiva (names of the nameless), followed then by a complete description of the śiva linga worship. The linga is an aniconic representation that represents the synthesis of the divine masculine and femenine principles, the microcosmos and the macrocosmos, primordial energy-matter and pure consciousness. It's arguably the most simple and direct "outward symbol" of the "formless Reality".
